Patrick Agyemang scores, Derby County falls to Middlesbrough

Patrick Agyemang is enjoying a productive start to life at Derby County.

Agyemang scored his third EFL Championship goal of the season despite the Rams’ 2-1 road loss to Middlesbrough on Saturday. The former Charlotte FC man needed only two minutes to open the scoring at the Riverside Stadium.

Lars-Jorgen Salvesen played Agyemang upfield with a through ball pass before Agyemang slid home a right-footed shot.

It marked Agyemang’s sixth goal contribution of the season since joining the Rams from MLS last summer.

However, it would be the only lead for Derby County on the day as Middlesbrough used a second-half rally to take all three points.

Matt Targett’s header in the 75th minute tied the match at 1-1 before Morgan Whittaker struck home the eventual winning goal nine minutes later.

Agyemang played the full 90 minutes in the match, leading all players in duels won (7).

John Eustace’s men dropped to 10th place after the defeat, sitting three points back of the top-six.

Derby County will resume league play on December 6 at Pride Park against Leicester City.
