Coventry City continues to sit top of the EFL Championship standings despite Haji Wright’s goalscoring drought for the Sky Blues.
Wright hit the ground running during the summer, scoring four goals in his first five appearances for the club in August. However, his goals have dried up over the past two months, with Wright failing to score in any of his last 10 appearances for club and country.
Frank Lampard has continued to rely heavily on Wright during the busy festive period, but the goals will surely need to come if he wants to remain a consistent starter. Wright will have two chances over the next four days against Ipswich Town and Charlton Athletic to turn his fortune around.
A surge of goals for Wright in the new year would be crucial in him potentially being back with the U.S. men’s national team in March.
Elsewhere in England, Patrick Agyemang and Derby County face two matches in four days. Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United take on Liverpool. Chris Richards and Antonee Robinson square off in Premier League play.
In Scotland, Auston Trusty and Celtic take on Motherwell in Premiership action. Dante Polvara and Aberdeen face off with Hibernian.
