The UEFA Women’s Champions League knockout stageis set.
12 European clubs learned their fates for the playoff and quarterfinal rounds following Thursday’s draw. Bayern Munich, Barcelona Lyon, and Chelsea all advanced to the quarterfinal round after finishing in the top-four of the league phase.
Every round except the final will be two-legged series.
Eight U.S. women’s national team players will be part of the knockout rounds with goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce and defender Emily Fox set for the playoff stage.
Tullis-Joyce and Manchester United will take on Spanish side Atletico Madrid, with the winner advancing to face Bayern Munich in the last eight.
Fox and Arsenal take on Belgian side OH Leuven, who became the first club from its country to reach the knockout stage in 17 years. The winner of the Arsenal-OH Leuven tie would take on English club Chelsea in the quarterfinals, a matchup that would feature four USWNT players (Fox, Catarina Macario, Alyssa Thompson, and Naomi Girma).
Lindsey Heaps, Lily Yohannes, Korbin Shrader and Lyon are also headed straight to the quarterfinals and will meet either Wolfsburg or Juventus in that round.
Paris FC takes on Real Madrid in the fourth playoff series, with the winner squaring off with Barcelona in the quarterfinals.
Arsenal are the reigning Champions League winners after defeating Barcelona 1-0 in last season’s final.
