Monday marked the end of the January Transfer Window for most of the top European leagues, ending the quest for many clubs to bolster their squads until the summer.
From Jurgen Strand Larsen joining Crystal Palace to Jean-Philippe Mateta‘s broken-down move to AC Milan, there was zero shortage of drama as many European clubs were in the mix on Monday.
Strand Larsen’s move to Selhurst Park proved to be the biggest move of the day, with the Norwegian striker making the move from Wolves for a reported £48 million fee. Strand Larsen scored 20 goals in 64 appearances for Wolves, but now makes the move to South London after signing a four-and-a-half year deal.
Mateta’s proposed move to Serie A club AC Milan broke down on Monday after there were reported issues with his medical. The French international previously stated he wanted to leave Crystal Palace with the Rossoneri originally set to pay roughly £30 million for his services.
Liverpool agreed to a £60 million deal with French club Rennes to acquire defender Jeremy Jacquet. However, he will not be joining the Reds this winter, and instead will be undergoing a medical to make the move to Merseyside this summer.
Karim Benzema has left Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad, making the move to rivals Al Hilal. The former French international scored 38 goals in 64 appearances for Al Ittihad after a stellar career with Real Madrid.
Former Chelsea and Leicester City standout N’Golo Kante is also leaving Al Ittihad, making the move to Turkish club Fenerbahce. Kante, 34, made 79 appearances in Saudi Arabia, scoring eight goals.
Ademola Lookman is on the move to La Liga, joining Atletico Madrid in a reported £30.3 million deal from Atalanta. Lookman scored 55 goals and added 27 assists for the Serie A club following his previous move from RB Leipzig.
Sunderland bolstered its attacking options in the form of Nilson Angulo from Belgian side Anderlecht. The Black Cats will reportedly pay £17.5 million for Angulo’s services. Angulo has delivered 15 goal contributions this season for Anderlecht over 30 appearances.
Nottingham Forest added defensive help with Luca Netz joining the club from Bundesliga side Borussia Moenchengladbach. Netz signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Forest after making 121 appearances for Gladbach.
Tottenham made one of the more intriguing moves in the window, signing Hearts youngster James Wilson on loan for the remainder of the season. Arsenal reportedly were interested in acquiring Wilson themselves, but its North London neighbors beat them to the signing.

Ligue 1 side Toulouse added Canadian forward Jacen Russell-Rowe in a permanent deal from the Columbus Crew. Toulouse reportedly will pay $2.5 million for Russell-Rowe’s services.
Wolves acquired midfielder Angel Gomes on loan from Marseille for the remainder of the EPL season.
Serie A side Pisa added attacking help withSamuel Iling Junior joining on loan from Aston Villa. Iling Junior’s loan spell with English second-tier club West Bromwich Albion was cut short for him to make the move to Italy.
Former Seattle Sounders homegrown Obed Vargas has made the move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in a permanent deal. Vargas signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the club after recording four goals and 12 assists in 92 MLS appearances for the Sounders.
Derby County bolstered its attacking options with Sammie Szmodics joining on a loan for the remainder of the season. Szmodics joins on loan from Ipswich Town, where he only scored five goals in 34 appearances.
EFL Championship side Wrexham announced two deadline day signings on Monday, with Davis Keillor-Dunn joining from Barnsley and Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri making the move from Sheffield Wednesday. Keillor-Dunn totaled 16 goals in 34 appearances with Barnsley this season while Cadamarteri scored two goals in 30 appearances for the Owls.
Monaco acquired Simon Adingra on loan from Sunderland for the remainder of the Ligue 1 season. There is an option for Monaco to purchase Adingra for £16 million, should he impress in France.
Chelsea made a pair of moves with its sister club Strasbourg, recalling loanee Mamadou Sarr and loaning out Aaron Anselmino moving in the opposite direction. Anselmino made six appearances on loan at Borussia Dortmund during the first half of the European season.
Sheffield United have signed Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan for the remainder of the season. Phillips, 30, has only made 16 appearances for the Citizens since joining from Leeds United back in 2022 for a £45 million fee.
Hibernian added former German youth defender Felix Passlack in a permanent deal from VfL Bochum. Passlack made 61 appearances for Bochum since 2023, scoring three goals.
Schalke also added from Sunderland, acquiring midfielder Adil Aouchiche in a permanent move. Aouchiche, 23, made 36 appearances for the Black Cats over parts of three-and-a-half seasons.
Greek Superleague side Panathinaikos have signed veteran French midfielder Moussa Sissoko from Watford. The 36-year-old returned for a second spell with the Hornets in July 2024 and made 61 appearances for the club over that span.
League One challengers Stockport County have added Louie Barry on loan from Aston Villa for the remainder of the season. The 22-year-old returns to the Hatters having previously scored 25 goals in 45 appearances in two separate loan spells for the club.
Leicester City made an in-division move by adding Joe Aribo on loan from Southampton for the remainder of the season. The 29-year-old joined the Saints in 2022 and scored nine goals in 111 games for the club.
Blackpool have announced the signing of midfielder Leighton Clarkson from Aberdeen. Clarkson made 154 appearances for the Dons, helping them win the Scottish Cup last season.
Bolton Wanderers have signed forward Johnny Kenny on loan from Scottish Premiership Celtic. The 22-year-old made his Republic of Ireland debut last November and has made 23 appearances for Celtic since joining the first team in 2022.
Sheffield Wednesday made a trio of moves on Monday, adding Crystal Palace defender Tayo Adaramola and Manchester City wingerJoel Ndala on loan for the remainder of the EFL Championship season. Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba also joined on a short-term deal after being released by Luton Town earlier in the day.
Arsenal have signed St. Mirren striker Evan Mooney on a permanent deal. Mooney will join Arsenal’s Under-21 squad.
Dundee FC have announced the signing of forward Aldahir Valenzuela on a loan deal from Mexican club Monterrey.
Bristol City have announced the permanent signing of New York Red Bulls centre-back Noah Eile. The Swedish Under-21 defender made 64 MLS appearances over the past two seasons.
