Rokas Pukstas’ career-best season with Hajduk Split continued on Sunday with the American midfielder delivering his latest goal contribution.
Pukstas scored his ninth goal of the season in Hajduk Split’s 3-1 win over NK Varazdin. The 21-year-old played 82 minutes in the result, earning SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors.
NK Varazdin broke the deadlock after 21 minutes through an Aleksa Latkovic’s opening goal but Hajduk Split would rally to claim all three points. A Sven Lesjak own goal tied the match six minutes later before Pukstas dialed his own number to propel the hosts in front 2-1 before halftime.
Abdoulie Sanyang’s insurance goal in second-half stoppage time sealed the home victory for Hajduk Split, giving them their 19th league win of the season.
Pukstas now has 10 goal contributions on the season (nine goals, one assist) which is a career-best for the American playmaker. He also won four duels, drew two fouls, and made three defensive recoveries, helping on both sides of the field.
Hajduk Split will seek a strong end of the season this month, starting with a trip to league champions Dinamo Zagreb on May 9. Pukstas, who hasn’t gotten a senior USMNT look yet in his career, will hope a strong campaign leads to his first inclusion after the FIFA World Cup this summer.
Here is a closer look at this week’s top Americans Abroad performances:
Folarin Balogun
AS Monaco remains in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League spot and Folarin Balogun’s goals have surely helped in that quest.
Balogun scored his 19th goal of the season in all competitions as Monaco defeated Metz 2-1 in comeback fashion. The U.S. men’s national team forward celebrated his fourth goalscoring appearance in his last five overall, helping Monaco jump into the top-six with two matches to play.
Ricardo Pepi
Ricardo Pepi is continuing to make up for lost time in the Eredivisie season.
Pepi scored his 17th goal of the season in all competitions as PSV tied Ajax 2-2 in league action on Saturday. The USMNT forward made it three-consecutive goalscoring appearances, continuing what has been a positive return to action after two months sidelined.
Pepi will have two final opportunities to add to his statistics while also aiming to stay healthy.
Bryan Reynolds
American fullback Bryan Reynolds delivered one of his best performances of 2026 on Saturday.
Reynolds assisted once and played 90 minutes as Westerlo played out a 3-3 draw with OH Leuven. The 24-year-old has remained a consistent starter for Westerlo this spring, as the club pushes for a Conference League qualifying spot.
Reynolds also won six duels, drew three fouls, and made two tackles in his 36th appearance of the season.
Auston Trusty
Five-consecutive victories for Celtic have them riding high during the final stretch of the season.
Auston Trusty has continued to deliver strong performances for the club, logging his latest 90-minute shift on Sunday in a 2-1 win over Hibernian. Trusty won seven duels, made two clearances, and four defensive recoveries as Celtic leveled Hearts atop the league table.
Trusty’s strong defensive work rate has certainly benefitted the club, who has three league matches to go.
