Gabriel Slonina made his third-consecutive start for Belgian Pro League club Eupen on Saturday and walked away with his second victory of the campaign.

Slonina made two key saves in Eupen’s 3-1 home triumph over OH Leuven. The Chelsea loanee has remained Eupen’s No. 1 in the early stages of the season, earning important minutes in his European development. The former Chicago Fire homegrown will aim to kick off September’s schedule on a high note with a trip to Mechelen on Sept. 2.

  1. Sounds like Slonina is fitting in nicely. Between him and Callender the US has two viable #2’s. Also really like Brady at Chicago and Celentano at Cincinnati.

Will be interesting to see who gets the callup this upcoming FIFA window. I wonder if he leaves most of the Euro guys with their club teams, and calls those guys for the October window which is games against better teams in Germany and Ghana.

    • Serie A teams are looking at Tessman, but I think it will take a good transfer fee for Venezia to let go of him. He is a Big part of Venezia plans in trying to gain promotion this year.

  2. I thought Weah was the best player for Juve when he was in. He had a shot from top of the box that he thought was in. Keeper made a nice save. He’s all over the field as the WB, at one point he’s in the box combining with Chiesa and Vlahovic another point he’s out on the touch line connecting with Danilo in the build up. My worry is he’s putting in a ton of miles. Hopefully as he gets used to his role he’s more strategic with his movements.

  3. Why is Adams and Aaronson to good to play in the Championship when Sargent is not? Sargent is better than Adams and Aaronson in my opinion. Sargent is a better player with stats, contributes more, plays his position scoring and holding the ball well, and is def EPL quality

    • Sorry bro, but you’re tripping if you think Sargent and Aaronson are on the level of Tyler Adams, and the number of big clubs interested in TA would back that up. Tyler is too good for the Chaampionship, period, and I thought Aaronson was too but it’s starting to look like that might be his level

      • Adams was awful against Holland. He lost his mark against Holland and was awful, he also has scored only one goal for the USA men’s team. He never assist either for club or country. Adams has done nothing in the EPL. He also draws a ton of fouls which leads to freekicks and us being scored on. Sargent actually scored in the EPL when Norwich was in EPL and he had Pukki.

    • I think it’s hard to compare stats across different positions. If you look at just Josh, he’s never had more than 5g in Bundesliga or EPL. Those numbers for a DM like Adams not bad for an attacker it’s not good. He also hasn’t had a season when he just plays striker. Like any item in an open market you have to find a buyer and it only takes one. Sargent hasn’t found an interested buyer in the EPL that he thought was a good deal for him. Aaronson and Adams found buyers/loaners.
