The EFL Cup second round draw took place on Wednesday with a heavy slate of American players set to enter the competition later this month.
Chris Richards, Auston Trusty, and Matt Turner are among six U.S. men’s national team players who will join the second round action with their respective clubs. Josh Sargent, Jonathan Tomkinson and Norwich City could also feature in the next round if they defeat QPR next week.
Richards and Crystal Palace will visit Championship hosts Plymouth Argyle during the final week of August. The USMNT defender featured in the competition last season against Oxford United.
Trusty, who joined Sheffield United on a permanent deal last week, will hope to feature against Lincoln City in the second round.
Turner and Nottingham Forest will face Burnley in one of two All-Premier League showdowns in the second round. The USMNT goalkeeper recently joined Forest from Arsenal this week.
Antonee Robinson, Tim Ream and Fulham also enter the competition and will welcome London rivals Tottenham to Craven Cottage.
Should Sargent and Norwich City defeat QPR on August 14, they will travel to fellow Championship side Bristol City.
Several players suffered elimination in the first round including Haji Wright and Duane Holmes.
